If you are in the austin realestate market, there are some things you should take into consideration. First, you should never over analyze a price. If you find some properties you like, feel free to make an offer even if it is considerably lower than the asking price. Failing to make an offer only ensures no chance at buying the home. Next, place the home under contract. Be sure to place a safety clause into the contract that basically says you will buy the home providing there are no serious safety issues that need to be addressed. Once this is complete, have the property inspected. Make a list of all the things that need to be fixed and try to get the seller to complete as many repairs as possible. While you are in the neighborhood, drive around and take a look at the conditions of the other houses as well as the cars that are sitting on the street. Also, take a look at the condition of the sidewalks and streets. If there is litter and junk everywhere, you are likely not in the greatest neighborhood and may want to look for a home elsewhere.
